Concept.
Rooted in the ancient port city of Korkai—the cradle of early Tamil civilization,The restaurant draws inspiration from its maritime heritage, temple architecture, and craft traditions.

Design.
The design seeks to reinterpret the essence of South Indian cultural identity through a refined modern lens, blending symbolism, material honesty, and warmth.

Spatial narrative.
The spatial narrative unfolds as an interplay between monumentality and intimacy. Terracotta roofing, carved columns, and handcrafted stone details evoke the architectural language of traditional Tamil temples, while glass facades and a clean linear layout lend a sense of openness and contemporaneity.

Materiality & Ambience.
The palette celebrates the tactile richness of regional craftsmanship—warm wood tones, textured stone, and muted brass accents. Layered lighting elements, from custom wooden lanterns to soft backlit onyx, create a play of glow and shadow that enriches the dining experience. The result is a spatial dialogue between nostalgia and modern sophistication.

Relief and Sculpture.
The interiors are anchored by sculptural installations depicting elephants and maritime motifs—an homage to Korkai’s historical trade and artistic heritage.
